## Overview

beep is a contactless stored-value card and automated fare collection system operated by AF Payments Inc. (AFPI). It is the cashless fare payment for Metro Manila's three rail lines (LRT-1, LRT-2, MRT-3), the EDSA Busway, BGC buses, and a growing network of point-to-point and provincial buses, and is also accepted at partner retail merchants. AFPI was formed in 2014 by the AF Consortium, a partnership of the Ayala Group and the First Pacific Group, to deliver the government's Automated Fare Collection System. In 2024 beep partnered with Mastercard to enable open-loop tap-to-pay on transit.
