Pouch is the Philippines' first Bitcoin Lightning Network wallet, founded in 2022 by Ethan Rose. It lets merchants accept Bitcoin via QR with no FX-volatility exposure — Pouch converts BTC to pesos and settles to the merchant's bank or e-wallet — and powers low-cost cross-border remittances over Lightning, including PH-to-US "Send Globally" transfers and Batch Pay for payroll. It anchors the Boracay "Bitcoin Island" initiative (250+ merchants) and reported 400+ merchants nationwide by 2023. It is a BSP-registered Operator of Payment Systems.
